Lexmark is trying something new for its dealers this year – instead of a single dealer meeting as they have done in the past, they've taken the show on the road and are hosting events in six cities — three have already been held in Lexington, Las Vegas and Orlando, with three more to come in Montreal, Chicago and Boston. BPO Media had the chance to attend the Las Vegas and Orlando shows, and we're still arguing over which one had the better networking event — racing cars at SpeedVegas or nighttime airboat rides while looking for alligators on Lake Tohopekaliga.
We'll delve more into the events in detail, as well as product launches, some of which we're still not allowed to talk about (ah, the power of the media!) in a future post. But for now we bring you some photos of the two events and let you decide which looks cooler (in fairness, nighttime nature photography is hard).
We'll start, however, with an actual shot of Clark Bugg and Phil Boatman kicking off the event.
OK, not really. But Phil and Clark were the ones who likened the roadshows so far to "Tommy Boy," and it's easy to see why — Phil's resemblance to Chris Farley is uncanny.
The real dream team on the road: Phil Boatman and Clark Bugg.
Some presentations from the two events, including Greg Chavers, the solutions panels, some of the already-released printers we are allowed to show, and Patricia catching up with Richard Van Dyke of Advanced Office.
The SpeedVegas evening event. OK, that race track does look pretty cool. Patricia thinks the fact that the Vegas attendees actually got to DRIVE the cars gives Vegas the edge as best event. Mark Hart from ACDI seems pretty happy about it in the photo above, along with Tiffany Hunter from Lexmark.
But Orlando included dinner at Charley's Steakhouse, followed by airboats and gators. Airboats go fast too, y'all. And sideways! And they get you wet. Amy gives the Orlando event two thumbs up.
