U.K. Government Selects Xerox U.K. for MFD, MPS Framework Agreement
UXBRIDGE, U.K. – The U.K. Cabinet Office’s Government Procurement Service in partnership with two purchasing organizations, YPO and ESPO, has selected Xerox U.K. as sole supplier for an estimated £150 million multifunctional devices contract and as a preferred supplier of managed print services in a new framework agreement.
The framework agreement is split into several categories covering multifunctional devices, technology services, managed print services and print audits, with Xerox being named as a sole supplier in the devices category and preferred supplier in another two categories. The agreement draws on Xerox’s dedication to improving government efficiency for central government departments, local government, the education sector and the NHS.
A partner to the UK government and public sector for more than 35 years, Xerox’s industry-leading technology and managed print services will help government departments lower costs, increase productivity, improve document security and establish more sustainable workplaces.
Government Procurement Services, YPO and ESPO’s shared goal is to provide savings for the U.K. public sector through centralised and standardised procurement, with a focus on sustainable cost reduction.
Alan Charnley, managing director, Xerox U.K. and Ireland, said: “Being chosen as an official supplier in all three categories is testament to Xerox’s long commitment to supporting the provision of improved services to the public sector. The agreement draws on both our technology innovation and our experience in transforming print and document management through fully-managed services. We look forward to playing our part in helping the U.K. public sector achieve its cost reduction and sustainability targets.”
Xerox signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cabinet Office to deliver savings to the Government as part of the Efficiency Reform Group’s deficit-reduction programme in 2010. The company provides technology, document management and business process outsourcing to a wide range of public sector organisations such as the Department of Work and Pensions, Worcester NHS Trust, Manchester City Council, Newport City Council, Sandwell Council, Scottish Police Services Authority and Kirklees Council.
